While the RTX 3050 and RX 6600 would be perfect for a $249 price, as it’s easy to recompense the 3050 at that price point. The A700 isn’t going to launch on October 12 with the A700, so given the $289 price point, we can’t resist. ![]() ![]() The full details of the Arc desktop lineup remain unchanged, but it’s nice seeing the A580 still waiting in the wings. As time passes, more games are expected to become the “optimized” category, with a suitable performance. The DX12 Optimized titles are games where Intel has created targeted performance improvements, while the other DX12 games are only using standard code. It’s worked hard over the past few months to improve the situation, and that’s starting to get better. Intel also discussed how creating the driver for Arc by integrating drivers as a starting point proved problematic. Even in an area where Nvidia has traditionally reigned supreme for the last four years, the Arc A770 was faster in 13 of the tests. There were also seventeen games that use ray tracing to track performance. Unlike AMD, it’s not quite avoiding comparisons in ray retrieving games. Both the DLX12 and Vulkan A750 titles led to 32 of the 43 tested games and the A750 won six of the seven games. Even DX11-only games are not surprisingly the lowest performing class overall, with about ten of the 17 games in the group showing the greatest performance in 3060. Probably not the RTX 3060, but even when DX11 at times still runs better than DX12 or Vulkan, one is certain that a little skepticism is warranted. Games that support DX12 or Vulkan were tested using this API, but for Intel it generally means a lot better performance. Intel tried to test games that use all three important graphics APIs, however, DirectX 12. Even though the high-rise A7 was slightly smaller, it showed a little better performance across the test suite. Intel tested both of these cards with the Core i9-12900K, 32GB memory and a Asus Z690 DDR5 motherboard. It’s the same as the test, that the manufacturer has cited in this slide. We only need one week to find much better prices. That might have been the interest rate for the card last month, but GPU prices are very volatile now. Intel also gave several “bang for money” slides showing that the A770 and A750 are taking the most aversion of the RTX 3060, but it does not catch that it used a “current” price of 418 dollars for the RTX 3060. The games were tested at 1440 x 1080 yen, which could be a reasonably good target for midrange hardware. To that end, it was providing a full suite of 67 gaming benchmarks with the A770, A750 and RTX 3060. Even at price parity, Intel still thinks it’s an issue. It’ll probably be the first time we had seen an RTX 3060 go for less than its MSRP since it first launched in January 2021. Amazon has the PNY XLR8 for $377 (opens in new tab) while Newegg has the MSI XLR8 for $369 (opens in new tab). Intel isn’t worried about performance comparisons, running straight after Nvidia’s nominal $3, except that actual GPU street pricing still starts at $369 for the RTX 3060. Come join if you have questions or comments about this topic. Please keep in mind that we’ll go live on Tom’s Hardware Show (above) to discuss full slide deck and other details. The building will have 8GB and a starting price of just $289. But the bigger deal is arguably the Arc A750. Is $20,000 for one second of the RAM and memory? Yes, we’ll do that in heartbeat even if that doesn’t matter so much in most games. Intel’s new Arc A770 16GB Limited Edition costes three hundred dollars, just twenty more than the base A770 8GB. Where did Pat refer to A770? It’s the A770 8GB model, and everyone’s surprise is the other one, but the other Arc A700 variants are priced equally aggressively. Before giving keynote for Intel Innovation, Pat Gelsinger gave an estimated start of $329 to the A770. Intel supplied more details about what we’ll see when the cards arrive in just a few weeks. The Arc A770 and A750 are going to launch on October 12 and they’re putting their sights on the midrange market with the most efficient graphics cards. ![]() Intel Arc Alchemist is in development for several years, and after some delays and start-ups, we’re finished off on a home stretch. Intel’s A7, A7 & A7 are about to change pricing on October 12.
